Add 2004-05 events to master calendar
All departments planning conferences and other events for next year are
reminded to enter them on the master campus calendar by contacting Susan
Peterson, <peterssu>, 387-1291.
In this way, items can be added to the admissions calendar and other campus
publications, and the Public Information office knows when to publicize
events.

COMMUNITY
Thank you
The Admissions staff wants to wish all campus personnel and summer student
assistants a huge thank you for helping with the Summer Visit Days June
21-22. Hospitality was extended to approximately 215 prospective students.
Ellen's Computer Tip of the Week
This is old advice about searching, but important enough to bear repeating.
Put quotes around phrases that must be searched together. If there are quotes
around "purple finch" Google and other search engines won't waste
time finding web pages that contain purple or finch.
CFA landscaping portrait
Need a refreshing lift? Want to enjoy a pleasant sensuous experience? Set
aside 10 minutes (or more) for a gentle walk (or a meditative bench sit)
along the south side of the Center for the Arts and indulge in the aesthetic
landscape created and maintained by Perry Halse, Paul Frana and their students.
The beautiful portrait evolves and changes weekly.
LIS farewell to Jeff Bouzek
LIS is planning a farewell gathering on Thursday, July 8 at 10 a.m. in Main
12, for our users to stop by and say goodbye to Jeff Bouzek, programmer
analyst on the application development team. Jeff has accepted a position
with Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis. His last day at Luther will be
July 13. Jeff will be greatly missed by the LIS users and our team. Viterbo
is offering Jeff a great opportunity and we wish him continued success there.

EDITORIAL COMMENT
And finally
The young always have the same problem- how to rebel and conform at the
same time. They have now solved this by defying their parents and copying
one another.
