Luther nursing students take courses at Mayo

The following students are taking the junior-level nursing courses associated with Mayo Foundation Hospitals in Rochester, Minn.: Sara Schultz, Katie Batton, Carin Boelman, Amy Colony, Jamie Siefert, Mindy Stephens, David Lenninger, Michael McCarty, Joanna Kirstein, Jennifer Crawford, Alisha Miller, Rebecca Scharpe, Erika Damerval, Brenda Rengstorf, Kelly Hickey, Lauren Demmer, Ann Jacobs, Anna Blem, Ingrid Hengesteg, Betsy Aune and Sara Ochsankehl

Sara Schultz

Sara Schultz, a Luther College junior from Crystal Lake, Ill., is taking the junior-level nursing courses associated with the Mayo Foundation Hospitals in Rochester, Minn., during the 2001-02 academic year.

Schultz is the daughter of Mark and Diane Schultz of Crystal Lake and is a 2000 graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School. She is majoring in nursing at Luther.

The Luther nursing students take courses in psychology, urban medical/surgical nursing, the study of drugs, interaction with children, research methods, and trends and issues in nursing. Students also get clinical experience through Mayo-affiliated agencies.

Katie Batton

Katie Batton, a Luther College junior from St. Charles, Ill., is taking the junior-level nursing courses associated with the Mayo Foundation Hospitals in Rochester, Minn., during the 2001-02 academic year.

Batton is the daughter of Mike and Lisa Batton of St. Charles and is a 2000 graduate of St. Charles High School. She is majoring in nursing at Luther.

Carin Boelman

Carin Boelman, a Luther College senior from Algona, Iowa, is taking the junior-level nursing courses associated with the Mayo Foundation Hospitals in Rochester, Minn., during the 2001-02 academic year.

Boelman is the daughter of Allyn and Vicki Boelman of Algona and is a 1999 graduate of Algona High School. She is majoring in nursing at Luther.

Amy Colony

Colony is the daughter of Jan Archer and Martha Colony of Ames and is a 2000 graduate of Ames High School. She is majoring in nursing at Luther.

Lenninger is the son of Ron and Bobbi Lenninger of Decorah and is a 2000 graduate of Decorah High School. He is majoring in nursing at Luther.

McCarty is the son of Janann McCarty of Decorah and is a 1989 graduate of Thomas Roberts Senior High School. He is majoring in nursing at Luther.
